Hoover Dam Historic Era Railroad Museum Tour

Exclusive tour starting from Laughlin exploring American engineering history. Discover the story of the workers who built one of America's greatest wonders.

Hoover Dam is one of the greatest engineering achievements in American history. Constructed between 1931 and 1936 in the middle of the Great Depression, it employed over 20,000 workers and stands as a monument to the ambition and determination of a generation.

Desert Wonder Adventures' Hoover Dam tour goes beyond simply seeing the dam from a scenic overlook. We visit the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City, where you can see the actual locomotives and equipment used to build the dam, and take a ride on a restored vintage train through the desert landscape.

Boulder City itself is a fascinating stop. It was built from scratch to house the dam workers and their families, and by law it remains the only city in Nevada where gambling is prohibited. The historic district retains much of its original 1930s character.

Our full tour from Laughlin runs approximately 7 hours and includes the railroad museum, a train ride, and time to explore Boulder City's historic downtown before heading back through the desert. It's a day that connects you to American history in a deeply personal way.

The tour is open to guests 9 years and older and departs from Laughlin hotels. A 10% discount is available on advance bookings. Call (928) 716-2046 to reserve your spot.
